THE CANADIAN GOVERNMENT PAINTS IT GREEN
The Government of Canada has invested $25 million in the McMichael Canadian Art Collection to renovate and expand its facility to net-zero carbon standards. Announced by Minister Nathaniel Erskine-Smith and MP Francesco Sorbara, the project will modernize art-handling facilities, increase exhibition space and enhance accessibility. As one-third of McMichael’s collection is Indigenous, the renovations will further integrate Indigenous art. This investment supports the Green and Inclusive Community Buildings program, which aims to reduce emissions and promote sustainable, accessible spaces.

Sotheby’s delivered one of the most exciting auctions of all time with the first game-worn jerseys of two of the most lethally talented players to ever touch a basketball: Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. The two are often regarded as master and protégé. While Bryant entered the league at 18 years old in 1996, Jordan’s 1984 debut marked the rise of an extraordinary talent who transformed the sport. The jerseys are expected to achieve US$20 million.
