Inaugurated in the spring of 2022, The Club House, a former Tuscan farmhouse, is an age 14+ retreat located in the heart of Chianti Classico. Celebrating Tuscan heritage, the luxury retreat exists in synchrony with the surrounding environment, flavours and customs.
Preserving the essence of the old farmhouse, architect Margherita Gozzi has used genuine materials, including stone, terra-cotta and wooden beams, that ensure overall harmony with its surroundings.
The property’s advantageous location offers a 360-degree view of vineyards and olive groves that glow in the fall with shades of ochre, copper and scarlet. The hotel’s 15 rooms — three master suites (Lapina, Boscobruno and Migliorè) and 12 superior rooms, each with a distinct personality — take shape within this framework.
Adding a contemporary touch to Tuscan tradition are the terra-cotta floors, exposed beams and large windows opening overlooking the Chianti Classico vineyards.
Francesco Ferrettini, executive chef of the two Fontanelle Estate restaurants, leads the kitchen with finesse and creativity, highlighting the rich cuisines and flavours of the region. With just 12 seats and one Michelin star, Il Visibilio is a fine- dining establishment that serves a blind tasting menu that honours seasonality and takes guests on a sensory adventure driven by feelings and aromas.
Highlights include borlotti bean cream with ditalini pasta, pappardelle with wild boar and duck breast in dolceforte sauce, which evoke the tastes and ambience of Tuscan farmhouses.
In addition to this more intimate space, diners can also choose the Osteria Il Tuscanico, the friendly heart of the resort. Its new autumn menu, which emphasizes fresh goods, narrates the tale of the most genuine Tuscany via cuisine and strikes a balance between elegance and simplicity.
Along with a focus on architecture and flavours, The Club House emphasizes its rich wellness philosophy. The Wellness Sanctuary — a peaceful 400-square-metre retreat with a sauna, tepidarium, Turkish bath, pools and customized treatments — is where visitors can seek warmth as the temperature drops.
The spa, open to the landscape and flooded with natural light, feels visually integrated with the Chianti Classico countryside. Every element — including the tennis courts, golf driving range, gym, outdoor swimming pool and private spa area — is designed to create a memorable experience.
Since autumn guides the rhythm of the retreat, The Club House Hotel closed for the season since November 23. Says Fontanelle Estate general manager Phoebe Farolfi “After a year filled with satisfaction and guests from all over the world, we take the necessary time to recharge, introduce new ideas, and refine every detail ahead of reopening in spring 2026.”
