BMW Dealer’s Event: BMW iX3, Food, Community and Celebration

Maranello BMW’s event celebrates the launch of BMW iX3 with community and conversations.

Maranello BMW’s event captured the spirit of the BMW experience in its truest sense. Attended by Remo Ferri, founder and president of R. Ferri Automotive, Newel DeSouza, Maranello BMW General Manager, and others, the launch of the BMW iX3 was celebrated with the best in food, community and conversation. | Photo by Lismery Loyola

As part of the Remo Ferri Group of Automobiles, Maranello BMW has built a rich legacy as a dealership in Vaughan, laying down strong roots in the community in the 37 years since the business began. With their latest event, they celebrated the launch of the newest model, the BMW iX3. The event was all about good food, conversation and a look at the new vehicle.

For Maranello BMW General Manager Newel DeSouza, the event was a resounding success. “People were blown away by the technology of the car,” says DeSouza. “From the way it looked and learning about the specifications, to hearing the price of the vehicle listed at $78,000.”

Speaking about the significance of community, DeSouza adds how business goes beyond branding. Local engagement is what makes the business what it is. “It’s not just the branding of our business,” he says. “Because that’s what makes you feel good, when you do things for other people.”

“Breathtaking, stylish and efficient” is how Newel describes the newest model. It is already one of the most sought-after vehicles at the dealership. Maranello BMW has already pre-sold 40 vehicles before they’ve even arrived at the dealership — which will be next year.

A standout feature of the iX3 is its driving range. The vehicle can travel 698 kilometres on a full charge. As for charging the vehicle, it can take a mere 21 minutes for the battery to go from 10% to 80%.

The BMW iX3 with its exceptional trunk space is designed for the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life. “Most people who are looking for a car in this country look for a car that fits that size,” he says. “Businessmen, outdoorsmen, soccer moms or a family of five need that room in the back.”

Even though electric vehicles are becoming more common, some clients still feel uneasy making the switch from gas-powered vehicles to electric vehicles. DeSouza believes the best way for clients to become comfortable is to find out for themselves. “Try it first,” he says. “Don’t buy something because it looks good or the reviews are good.”

At Maranello BMW, clients have the opportunity to come into the dealership and test-drive the iX3. That way, any questions or concerns can be answered as clients get an in-person feel for the way the car drives. “There is always a fear of change. So try it first.” DeSouza believes that the iX3’s advanced technology can drive the electric vehicle market’s evolution, helping potential clients gain the confidence to make the switch. “As we see more people drive the BMW iX3, we’re going to see more advocates for electric vehicles,” he says. “It will be a big thing, not just for the BMW brand but the auto industry, for electric vehicles.”

Community outreach is another value that Maranello BMW upholds. The business has made generous donations to a number of hospitals and taken part in various charity events around the city.

When discussing the secret to a sweet life, DeSouza’s response went beyond business and cars. “Family, friends, community. I think that is the secret to all things. You can’t exist in this world and be happy without other people.”

Ultimately, Maranello BMW is so much more than the luxury brand and the vehicles it sells. It’s all about creating a rich atmosphere for car enthusiasts and bringing families and the people around them — the community that has supported the business for decades — together.
