Stefano Gabbana’s Floating Masterpiece

Crafted for Stefano Gabbana, the 65-metre Regina d’Italia emerges as a rare expression of modern Italian luxury and visionary design.

The Regina d’Italia, Stefano Gabbana’s remarkable private yacht, sailed into the public eye in 2019, an artful combination of Italian artistry, engineering mastery and pure design. Now listed for sale at $88.1million (US$64.4M/€54M) with Ocean Independence in Tuscany, Italy, the 65-metre Codecasa-built superyacht serves as an example of modern Italian luxury crafted with care and precision for its owner, one of fashion’s most influential designers.

Though based on the acclaimed Codecasa platform, the Regina d’Italia is entirely unique, defined by bold design layers, a modern interior and sleek contours. Designed in partnership with M2 Atelier and Gabbana himself, the yacht is a showcase of striking design and artistic ambition. Brazilian marble, more often seen in fine jewelry, is lavishly used throughout the yacht, complemented by a gradient of blue accents that intensify as you ascend from deck to deck.

The main salon is spacious and bright with mirrored ceilings and blue silk panels enhancing the ambience, while flexible telescopic spotlights shape the atmosphere. A Fornasetti dining table with throne-like chairs surrounding it anchors the dining space, and each piece of furniture doubles as storage for crystal and tableware. The floors are light oak with dark ebony joints, adding a dramatic visual rhythm.

LOOKING PAST ITS INTERIORS, THE REGINA D’ITALIA IS BUILT FOR CINEMATIC OUTDOOR LIVING. A 7-METRE INFINITY POOL IS LOCATED ON THE UPPER DECK IS LINED IN BRAZILIAN- MARBLE MOSAIC THAT SERVES AS ITS LUMINOUS CROWN.

The owner’s suite elevates privacy to an art form with its floor-to-ceiling windows, four portholes and mirrored ceilings creating a sense of openness. The aura of personal luxury is amplified with dual Brazilian-marble bathrooms, a bed larger than a traditional king and two walk-in closets lined in velvet, astrakhan fur and silk. The most playful and distinctive design element is a series of iconic Italian hand gestures reinterpreted as bronze taps in the bathrooms and sculptural features along the staircase. Each guest cabin showcases its own unique gesture, and the gestures have even inspired the creation of a bespoke book on Italian hand symbolism.

Beyond its interiors, Regina d’Italia is built for cinematic outdoor living. A seven-metre infinity pool on the upper deck lined in Brazilian-marble mosaic that serves as its luminous crown is surrounded by teak loungers and lighting that transforms the space into a sophisticated open- air lounge by night. Extendable platforms, a versatile beach club and a stylish gym framed by glass and mirrors complete the yacht’s full design vision.

More than just a yacht, the Regina d’Italia is a crafted world that mirrors the creative spirit of Stefano Gabbana himself: bold, stunning, flawlessly executed and unmistakably Italian.
