OMEGA: A New Contrast On The Moon

OMEGA kicks off 2026 with two dazzling Speedmaster Moonwatch models, redefining a space-travel icon through bold black-and-white contrast, modern craftsmanship and long-standing heritage.

Omega opens 2026 with the unveiling of two new Speedmaster Moonwatch models, revisiting one of watchmaking’s most storied icons, feeling at once familiar and strikingly new. Embedded in the legacy of the chronograph worn on the Moon, these new releases redefine the classic Speedmaster aesthetic through a bold black-and-white inverted-dial design, thus encouraging contrast, craft and clarity to take centre stage.

At the heart of each Moonwatch is the models’ signature step dial, now constructed using a refined double-plate technique. The top plate is polished black, with a varnished and lacquered finish for superior gloss, while white subdials emerge from the base layer below. This reversal of tones continues throughout the dial; minute tracks appear in white against black, while the subdials reverse the palette with black marking on white. The outcome is a clean, graphic structure that enhances legibility while giving the Speedmaster a modern architectural presence.

Surrounding the dial is a black ceramic bezel ring, filled with a white enamel tachymeter scale. This detail reinforces the monochromatic theme while gesturing to the Speedmaster’s tool-watch origins. The front features a box-form scratch- resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective treatment to protect the dial, offering durability and clarity. On the wrist, the watches are distinguished by their polished-brushed bracelets in classic Moonwatch style with Omega’s patented comfort-release-adjustment system.

Offered in two distinct 42mm styles: One is crafted in stainless steel, featuring rhodium- plated hands and hour markers filled with white Super-LumiNova for a clean, modern look. The second is crafted with Omega’s proprietary yellow-gold alloy, known as 18K Moonshine Gold. This gold is used across the hands and hour markers, complemented by a central chronograph hand in PVD Moonshine Gold. The same balanced design language is maintained throughout both watch models, allowing character to be defined by material choice.

Each watch is powered by the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861, the most advanced evolution of the legendary movement lineage trusted by NASA astronauts. Offering exceptional flawlessness, magnetic resistance and a five-year warranty, the movement emphasizes Omega’s commitment to performance as much as heritage. With these two new releases, Omega demonstrates that even icons can be redefined without losing sight of where it all began.
