The Creative School at Toronto Metropolitan University welcomes its newest SRFI member, Alexis Venerus, founder of Sew-Rite, a Toronto-based fashion production studio — a curated, craft- driven and collaborative environment that prides itself on its sustainable production practices. Venerus’ commitment to community-building, as well as to local manufacturing, is what led the Institute to name her its newest Suzanne Rogers Fashion Institute Fellow.
The SRFI offers a unique program to recent alumni who have careers in fashion. Since 2016, the Institute has contributed more than $900,000 of support to allow Fellows to attend international master’s programs, develop and create new collections, present at major fashion weeks and establish a solid presence in the global market.
