The dynamic duo behind Two Sisters Vineyards in Niagara-on-the-Lake take the next step forward in their culinary evolution.
Sisters Angela Marotta and Melissa Marotta- Paolicelli have long been among Canada’s leading purveyors of the finest wines, food and hospitality. From their first vineyard planting in 2007 to their Two Sisters Vineyards being awarded WineAlign’s Top Ten Wineries in Ontario and Top 20 in Canada to the opening of their new Stone Eagle Winery, they continue to elevate the wine and hospitality landscape in Niagara’s acclaimed wine country.
Stone Eagle Winery promises to set a new standard in Canadian hospitality, blending dynamic wines with creative food pairings in a setting of luxurious ambience with inspired event spaces. Here, the two sisters will be creating guest experiences that exceed every expectation.
“Stone Eagle Winery is defined by our family’s dedication to crafting exceptional wines and crafting experiences where hospitality and cuisine come together in a setting that feels both inviting and refined,” say the two sisters.
Set on a 36-acre estate in the heart of Niagara, the ultra-premium winery is deeply rooted in the Marotta family’s passion for artistry, hospitality and elevated experiences. Inspired by two hand- carved stone eagles that were sculpted over four years in the Italian Dolomites, the winery’s name symbolizes the strength, elegance and attention to detail that defines the estate. Stone Eagle reflects a blend of styles rooted in the glamorous geometry of Art Deco and infused with the charm and craftmanship of Old-World European design and subtle contemporary touches.
Under the expert leadership of winemaker Adam Pearce and estate sommelier Dieter Unruh, Stone Eagle’s guided tastings showcase the estate’s exceptional wines with elegance and versatility. Pearce’s low-interventionist winemaking allows the distinctive character of the Niagara region to shine, while Unruh’s expertise ensures each guest’s experience is delivered with sophistication, depth and a deep respect for the wine.
In keeping with a quality-over-quantity philosophy, the estate’s portfolio includes just five sustainably produced wines. Stone Eagle’s impressive opening portfolio includes a 2022 Eagle Eye White, a wine that was awarded a silver medal at the 2025 Decanter World Wine Awards, a gold medal at the National Wine Awards of Canada, and double gold by the Global Fine Wine Challenge, earning a 95-point wine rating. Also included in their portfolio is a 2022 Stone Eagle Rosé, which received a bronze medal at the National Wine Awards of Canada and earned a 93-point wine rating, as well as their 2020 Stone Eagle Special Selection Red, recipient of a silver medal at the 2025 Decanter World Wine Awards and a 96-point wine rating.
Stone Eagle’s exceptional wines are perfectly matched by the cuisine and presentation at The Nest at Stone Eagle, a restaurant that showcases locally sourced, globally inspired menus and exclusive wine pairings curated by the estate’s sommelier team. Menu highlights at The Nest at Stone Eagle include such dishes as hamachi crudo with yuzu kosho, Stone Eagle’s signature risotto with braised lamb shoulder, and B.C. wild miso black cod, each dish thoughtfully paired with wine from the estate’s portfolio.
Stone Eagle Winery is setting a new standard of hospitality for the Niagara region. Whether it’s for a private tasting, a wedding or a corporate event, the vineyards and soaring architecture make a striking backdrop, and the spaces are intentionally built to deliver a seamless guest experience.
The estate features a grand light-filled ballroom ideal for weddings and signature events, an elegant pre-function and intimate events space, the Pluma Room, designed for smaller events or pre- event receptions, as well as seven private tasting rooms offering sommelier-led and food-paired experiences and a beautifully appointed tasting bar and covered outdoor terrace with views over the peaceful and impressive vineyards.
The Marotta sisters’ commitment to sustainability, already in place at Two Sisters Vineyards, will continue at Stone Eagle Winery, the estate’s environmental practices a further manifestation of their dedication to excellence. The estate’s vineyards have been Certified Sustainable by Sustainable Winegrowing Ontario, reflecting a deep respect for environmental stewardship, community values and economic responsibility. Every decision in the vineyard and cellar, from strategic canopy management to the exclusive use of vegan-friendly, plant-based fining agents, is guided by integrity, innovation and care for the land.
Niagara-on-the-Lake has long been one of Canada’s most popular and picturesque destinations. Stone Eagle Winery is the perfect complement, providing visitors elevated wines, cuisine and hospitality.
