Van Cleef & Arpels: Parisian Elegance

Dec 14 2023

Van Cleef & Arpels’ new Canadian flagship boutique in Toronto’s Yorkville captures the special style of a luxury Paris apartment.

If asked to take an apartment in any city in the world, many would choose Paris, picturing how Coco Chanel lived on Rue de Cambon in the Paris of the 1920s and 1930s: warmth and elegance combined with style and sophistication.

That is the ambiance Van Cleef & Arpels has brought to Toronto’s Yorkville, one of the world’s leading retailing destinations, with the opening of its’ Canadian flagship boutique on prestigious Bloor Street.

“We are delighted to enhance the elegant universe of our French Maison with our new boutique on Bloor Street, designed to evoke the warmth and elegance of a Parisian apartment,” said Helen King, President & CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels, Americas.

The 2,500-square-foot boutique continues the French maison’s longstanding relationship with Canada as its first stand-alone Van Cleef & Arpels to open in the country. Founded in 1896, the French luxury jewelry company also features the finest watches and perfumes and now operates 155 stores throughout Europe, North and South America, the Middle East and Asia. Its luxury products have been worn by such royal and style icons as Grace Kelly, Diana, Princess of Wales, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Ava Gardner and Elizabeth Taylor.

The Toronto Yorkville location consists of two large retail floors, a private salon and a distinctive special-events room, each of the rooms offering an intimate atmosphere and experience much like that of a fine Paris apartment. Two glass chandeliers, hand-crafted in France, dominate and illuminate the space, which is further enhanced by intricately- panelled walls.

The private salon is in Van Cleef & Arpels’ classic style, thoughtfully designed for customer service, where they can discover the Maison’s creations in comfort and privacy. The special-events room’s décor features walls lined with a custom-designed floral-motif fabric, and the room is enhanced by an elegant oval-shaped Veronese-style chandelier hanging from a gold-leaf-covered recessed ceiling. These special details all come together to create a room that exudes intimacy as well as luxury, in keeping with the boutique’s overall concept.

You may not be able to get to Paris this season, but that special Parisian feeling is not far away. It can be found in Toronto’s Yorkville at this new boutique. It is an enchanting environment offering memorable moments for each of the Maison’s clients in true Van Cleef & Arpels style.
